Do you remember old you were when you saw your first Horror movie?

I was about 12-13 years old and my brother was about 6 1/2 when we sat down one night and watched "Salem's Lot", my very first horror and vampire flick. I had the flu that night and my brother was completely freaked out at the movie coupled with me doing my own level of "Exorcism" LOL

What was yours?

I have been watching horror movies since I can remember. I can remember watching Nightmare on Elm Street when I was probably 3 or4. Same thing with Friday the 13th and slew of other movies. My brother is 14 years older than me so I would always watch whatever he was watching.

The worst was The Exorcist. I watched that when I was 3 but didnít really understand it. I always remembered it so I watched it again when I was 7, scared that crap out of me. Then I watched it again when I was 12. I saw it when I was 16 when it was re released in the theaters. That was the last straw; I developed this huge phobia of the movie. I would dream about Regan like 3 times a week. The kind of dream where you wake up sweating. Then last October I went the Univ-con 4 that Penn Sate Paranormal Research Society hosts. I met a bunch of people there like Jason, Grant, Lou Gentile, Our very own Davey boy, and Eileen Dietz. She is going to be on Daveís show. She did alot of the special effects and voice overs for the movie the Exorcist. I talked with her about my fear and then on Halloween I was able to watch the exorcist for the first time in 5 years. I haven't had a nightmare since. It was actually kind of comical thinking about how scared I used to be of it.

I liked those Nightmare on Elm Street shows to, still have the series on VHS...i hated the scraping of the knives on metal thou...about enough to drive my hypersensitive ears insane.

My poor lil bro still hates the "Salem's Lot" movie even after all of these years, scared him about as bad you had been scared of the Exorcist movie.

The first time I watched Hellraiser, the first one, I got scared out of my wits and physically ill by it, but by far "The Faces of Death" series is about enough to keep you locked up in your house for a week or so...LOL

The first horror movie I can ever remember watching was Nightmare on Elm Street. I really don't even remember how old I was when I saw it, but it freaked me out at the time. Especially because I was in a dark, dingy basement.
My husband and I watch horror movies all the time. If you haven't seen the Ginger Snaps movies, rent those. The 2nd one is better than the first, but they are pretty good.

I was like 12 years old and it was the original Night of the Living Dead. I was spending the night with a girlfriend and we all stayed up to watch it with all of the lights off. The parents had gone out for a late night out and the kids --three girls and two boys, watched tv late into the night. That movie scared the beejeebus out of me. I made my best friend go to the bathroom with me and stand outside the door.

Anyone remember that series that Bruce Campbell starred in where it ended with that spoof "Army of Darkness"...there was cabin in the remote wilderness
in the previous ones, something about an evil book of
the dead.

I'll never forget how much I laughed when Bruce had to
cut his hand off and the thing is running around like this
psycho Adam's family hand making goofy noises...

In Army of Darkness, Bruce came out with that infamous saying "Gimme some Sugar Baby"..LOL

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. Much like what is going on in the world today.

Amityville Horror

when I was 7yrs old on HBO.

My brother, who is 8yrs older that me, thought that it would be funny to play a joke on me right after watching it. I went and took a shower. Where our laundry room was, you had to walk in then turn on the light. So he got down on all 4's and hid in the darkness. As I walked in, before I turned on the light, he rushed at me snorting like a pig. I couldn't see sh*t , all I heard was the pig snortting sounds. I screamed threw my laundry in the snorts direction and ran as fast as I could upstairs yelling "Mommy help me there somthing trying to get me!!"
Yeah, we still laugh about that today.

*-the connection to the movie and the pig sound.
JODY, the imaginary friend, was said to look like a half pig half man. And my brother knew I keyed on that part of the movie.

Salems Lot! I think my sister stayed awake for about 3 days after that one. All you had to do to get her "re-freaked" was pretend you were the vampire kid clawing at the window asking to be let in.

I think my first was The Legend of Hell House on a Saturday afternoon. I remember naively asking my Mom when Pamela Franklin was getting it on with the ghost. "Mommy what is she doing?"

I was little, little, we had gone to the drive in to see a Beattles Movie, I love those, and the second film was a Hitchpointer flick "frenzy", I know it isnt exactly horror, but it was pretty scary.
We had one of those big 4 wheel drive trucks with a seat in the back I was supposed to get in the back and go to sleep after my movie so the folks could watch their movie.
What they didn't realize was the picture was perfectly reflected in the rear window, if reversed, I got the whole movie.
Didn't tell them until I was in my late teens, mom got a kick out of it. cool

My first recollection of seeing a horror movie was when my Dad woke me up one Halloween eve and we watched the midnight showing of Night of the Living Dead. He always said it was the scariest movie he ever saw. It freaked me out, I was about 10. Awesome memory.

Then he took me to see Halloween. That was so damn creepy since it was the first of its kind.

So there ya have it, the 2 movies that I saw first. 1 on TV the other in a theatre.
